- 1:00 – 3:00 pm | AEI Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) – The AEI Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) is an annual training session for ASCE student chapter leaders, and student chapter members to, get leadership training and technical presentations from industry leaders, network with peers, share ideas, exchange best practices on how to help their chapter succeed.
- 3:00 – 6:00 pm | Bridge The Gap (BTG) – Bridge the Gap Student Competition is an on-the-spot, 3-hour long, engaging and fun design event for AEI students at the AEI 25Confernce. Following the AEI Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders, participating students will be organized into small groups with their own professional mentors to address a building-design challenge. Teams can choose one of three categories of design: Building massing and planning; or building systems; or detailed design of one space. Each student in the design-teams will get the opportunity to try out a technical role of their choosing for the day. Stepping into the role of architect, various design-engineers or construction manager, they will collaborate with their student-team and their professional mentors in a multi-disciplinary design approach.

- Undergraduate and Graduate Student Poster Research Showcase – Returning this year, for AEI Conference 2025, is a poster session for students to present their research to conference attendees. Cutting-edge technical work will be showcased in a visual display to encourage attendee interaction. Student researchers will be categorized as either Undergraduate or Graduate (Master or Ph.D. students). Posters will be judged by panel of jurors including faculty members, professionals, and student peers.
Poster Submission Deadline: Wednesday, February 14, 2025 5:00 pm EST. Submissions will be reviewed and students will be notified if selected to attend by February 21, 2025.
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm | International Student Design Competition (ISDC) – The AEI International Student Design Competition’s finalist teams present their project’s vision and design details live to a panel of jurors. Projects are judged in building integration, and in one or more of the following four categories: structural systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and construction. The competition attracts the top architectural engineering undergraduate and graduate students from leading academic institutions that offer accredited architectural engineering degrees, and encourages collaboration, research, innovation and peer review!
- 6:00 – 9:00 pm (Subject to change) Student Scavenger Hunt & Emerging Leaders Night Out – Following the International Student Design Competition, this team-building exercise offers students the opportunity to get competitive and connect more as a team. AEI Emerging Leaders will serve as team mentors for the scavenger hunt, allowing students to associate with industry professionals. The scavenger hunt will culminate joining the AEI Emerging Leaders Night Out a pre-determined venue at KC Live!
